Shortly after the discussion on TechCrunch and my mini Newsclipper review an invite for Hulu.com arrived in my inbox. My first impressions will follow shortly. First impression was an instant liking of the smart design. Clean crisp and well thought out. Absent was the forever loading advertisement iframe everone hates. So far two thumbs up.
Before I jump head first into how wonderful their streaming video is you must know it only streams in the U.S. Testing was done on an Ubuntu Linux system with the latest Flash 9 (non beta). The computer is coming in at 1.8 Mhz with a gig of ram. During my review I had multiple workspaces each with on average 5 applications. Keeping this in mind I’m happy to say the video was flawless.
Hulu’s ambitious and never-ending mission is to help you find and enjoy the world’s premium content when, where and how you want it.
They lack overwhelming levels of content for a startup this caliber. What surprised me was the length of the clips films they offered. No off brand dust collecting out of date choices either. From the Family Guy to the Simpsons and Tonight Show. Why haven’t you seen Hulu’s offerings in an advertisement? *cough
