Hey there I'm Robert MacEwan the author of Ideal Absolutes. If you're new to macewan.org, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

This is the southwestern portion of Lake Powell, which lies in Arizona. The back of Glen Canyon dam can be seen to the right in this image.

Knowing what your risk tolerance and investment style are will help you choose investments more wisely. While there are many different types of investments that one can make, there are really only three specific investment styles – and those three styles tie in with your risk tolerance. The three investment styles are conservative, moderate, and aggressive.

Naturally, if you find that you have a low tolerance for risk, your investment style will most likely be conservative or moderate at best. If you have a high tolerance for risk, you will most likely be a moderate or aggressive investor. At the same time, your financial goals will also determine what style of investing you use.

For example, say you are renting a Lake Powell Houseboat. By simply seeking options such as timeshares, you may find that it really isn’t too much more. Smart shopping is really the way to go.  Thinking outside of the box, you might find, really helps you at the end of the day. That my style, go with those that have the experience. In this case a little research turns up Sunrise Peak - the largest and most experienced luxury houseboat company on Lake Powell. Something to think about.

Fenix Hotel, Samara, Costa Rica

by macewan on May 20, 2008

Bob bowls.Well, someone needs a new website. The Fenix Hotel in Guanacaste, Costa Rica and by golly, I’m going to make them one. Odds are, if you’re a cool kid in the know, you’ve seen the beach in Samara. We’ll be leaving out of RDU on June 2 and blogging tico style for 16 days.

Yes, it’s true, Mel Gibson has a $31,000,000 beach house near Samara and Britney Spears is frolicking in the waves nearby. Actually, according to official Costa Rican press releases, it’s a ranch.

Mel has strong family values, and in spite of his reputation as a drinker and party animal, he prefers to live a more simple life than his negative press image implies.

Gibson says Hollywood doesn’t like him and he wants to be a Tico, and the “real estate investment” was very shrewd since Samara is blooming as a resort haven. Well… all I know is my daughter C4 has monkeys in the front yard …

Watch your local news for more updates on the Britney Beach Scene… look for me waving in the background…

The photograph here is Bob, who would have been my father-in-law. He died in 1988. Val has some great photos. I’m using that photo because this new blog requires a specific photo size and Bob Bowling is my prototype.
