Needed cooling off time after negotiating my time - I’m trying to select the right projects to take on. Any project manager runs into the same problem when multiple items need attention. So I went to do a little shopping during my simmering break and what did I come across? Simply the coolest damn docking station to cross this browser in quite some time. The Jensen JiMS 525i is PACKED with awesome extras.

JiMS-525i Docking Digital HD Radio™ System for iPod® and iPhone®
What really sold me was the iPhone acceptance apparently by default. Not some after thought addition to an old iPod nano docking station, no, this is balls to the wall, straight from Compton and ready to fight for it’s right to party!

Protect and personalize your cell phone
The cell phone is a loyal accessory and source of pride. Protection and love of this daily extension is high on the list of the owners. Cell phone skins have become very popular today, especially
for the people who consider it an indespensible companion in the concrete jungles of modern cities. Todays cell phone owners have no inhibitions about investing money for phone covers, because dressing up your handheld accessory can be fun and is also considered fashionable.
Designer cell phone faceplates have become a fashion and the industry is growing phenomenally, because cell phones are considered not only a luxury, but a necessity. If you live in a city where the work days are long, your cell phone actually needs faceplates, covers, skins - insert term of choice. We want to Twitter in style.
Cell phone faceplates can be bought and ordered online of course from Cellular Blowout. You can get almost any style cover for a multitude of phones, from Blackberries to iPhones, LG, Kyocera, Motorola, Nokia, Nextel, Samsung, Sidekick, Treo or Sony. The customized skins come in any size, shape or color that suits your individual style. The most important factor for any cell phone protection is its practicability. Of course the covers are fashionable, but these faceplates have to fit well and hence they have to be specially tailored for each manufacturer.

We’ve been teaching Ollie a fun game. Take all the Sunday newspaper circulars and go through them, one page at a time. Every person has to point to one thing on the page they will buy. One thing that they need. Or want. Val says she played the game as a kid and the Sears catalog was big fun because it contained just about everything.
She said some pages contained embarassing items, or really cool stuff… men’s jockey shorts to curtain rods to toys. One way to play the “Catalog Game” is to turn the page and each player must point without looking. Whatever your finger lands on, you must buy.
Okay, lame to some of you but it’s fun to play it with a three-year-old because he laughs so much when he has to buy a dress or women’s shoes.
Sometimes we play with a Captain D’s ad, or a Pizza Hut circular. Yes, it’s true. We live in the ass-end of the Great Dismal Swamp and fun is hard to come by. Entertainment options are few.
This is why the Internets are so important to us all. Like the Sears Catalogs from the turn of the 20th century, online catalogs provide
information and have unlimited entertainment value.
This week, we’ve played the Garden Gnome game. When Val plays the game, she invariably goes to the Southern Yard Art filled with $85,000 fireplace mantles and marble columns. One of the most interesting aspects of the southern yard art landscape is the no holds barred approach to what is in and what is out.
The Heidi Klum of lawn decors — “One of you gnomes is safe. The other — out.”

At some point Ollie has mentioned Miffy. Might have been during bedtime - my best guess. Anyway, in reading through “Surrender, Dorothy: Reviews” this morning I caught a glimpse of Miffy’s contest. I have zero information on the contest so you will have to visit http://surrenderdorothy.typepad.com/books for details. Somehow and we are all familiar with the experience– I came across Curious George at Ty’s Toy Store (Google it for link). I’ve seen the Curious George movie and even possess merchandise in the form of the Curious George flash light - push a button and his hat opens to reveal the bulb (ubercool).
OK, so that is on my mind this morning as I procrastinate in setting up 4 or 5 stores I’ve alloted myself for today. What else is going… I consulted on setting up an industry specific social networking site, discussed branding and link farms. The idea is to bring the masses in this particular group all together to discuss their industry and vie for attention and name recognition all while using the platform to lead potential buyers to the group owned stores. This involves a pligg site, discussion forum and multiple stores. Nothing new or ground breaking just time involved setting up these environments.
The specifics in carrying this out are monotonous at times bordering on irritating or mind numbingly error prone in working with the databases, security updates, e-commerce tie-ins and building the communities. Will there be an exit plan or is it set for long haul trickle after the initial boom. In the end I’m recommending a strong brand that is close to duplicate one that touches the hearts of those involved. An Apple, VW or Piggly Wiggly. There are grocery stores and then there’s The Pig. PC’s are generally less expensive up front to own but they lack soul and identity. An hardcore HP fans out there?
Sometimes it’s extremely difficult to articulate the bigger picture especially so if the details could just as easily be understood if spoken in a foreign language.
Cheers,
macewan

If you’re a regular reader of macewan.org, you know how much I love grandfather clocks. My favorite designer, hands down, is Howard Miller. Every time one of the
Howard Miller grandfather clocks appears in my browser, I find myself sighing — intense longing chimes in and I know I’ve just got to have one.
The best source on the Internet for grandfather clock information is 1-800-4clocks.com. Their main bricks and mortar store is in New York’s Grand Central Station. But you don’t have to go to the Big Apple to peruse their clock selection. Check them out online. There’s also a clock blog, full of relevant information and purchasing suggestions. Find out about the “green clock” idea… Read what clock bloggers write about.
Admit it… no home decor project, no re-design, is complete without considering the importance of a quality clock in every room. Personally, the sound of a clock is comforting. Tick tock, you know the drill. But if your “thing” is peace and quiet, guess what? Many grandfather clocks have a “silent operation” type of switch.

Did you know you can buy caskets on Overstock.com? Am I the only one who finds this curious? Perhaps a casket is the perfect Christmas gift for all of your loved ones. No, better not. They’ll compare coffin prices and know who you love the most. I think I am truly satisfied with my decision to be cremated. Val shopping online at a discount site for my coffin is a bit disconcerting to say the least. Creepy.
