Not to worry I can do it

by macewan on September 30, 2007

Hey there I'm Robert MacEwan the author of Ideal Absolutes. If you're new to macewan.org, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

Alright here’s the deal, I’ve painted the bathroom in this beautiful Dillpickle green. Slowly over the last two years the paint is fading and peeling away. Obviously I should have taken my time in tackling this project. Knowledge is power and a heck of a time saver when you take into account that the first attempt has to be completely duplicated. Right off the bat I knew that the tools I used were wrong but I did not have an understanding of what was needed. Not only in just tackling painting itself but also the prep work required to ensure a long lasting task. Especially painting and doubly especially since that painting occured in the bathroom.

A quick trip to DoitYourself.com would have saved the time and money that went into the initial project. Do yourself a favor and visit the site and seriously consider grabbing the “DoItYourself” DVD. Whether building a garage or laying a foundation for a patio if your plan is to have a lasting project be sure it is done right the first time you Do It Yourself.

LED’s celebrate more with less

by macewan on September 29, 2007

LED holiday lights are where it’s at this season. No longer are we able to continue taking and taking without thinking of the future. We should must put more thought into what we take from the planet. Part of my contribution is recycling, selling my SUV and becoming a smarter shopper. Another idea we’re looking into is LED Xmas lights.

They call it your carbon footprint. How expensive are you and your family for Earth to maintain in your current comfortable life style? Have you and yours begun the process of doing more with less? LED lights whether in office laps or LED christmas lights use way less electricity without adding worry of short illumination life.

Free Raleigh, NC Getaway

by macewan on September 29, 2007

Hopefully my mother-in-law is able to sleep with the neighbors pittbull barking. Evidently historic downtown Washington, NC must not have noise ordinances in their historic district. Great place to vacation - not. Actually, if you are looking a Southern town with the up and coming atmospher of a modern city then look no further than the “hidden treasure” of North Carolina - Raleigh. Unlike historic little Washington, Raleigh has tons of fun things to do this Fall.

From concerts to sporting events, the N.C. Museum of Art’s Landscapes from the Age of Impressionism to the North Carolina Theatre - Raleigh is where folks from the hub of IBX love to get a break from their small town blues. You do not have to live in the Mayberry of IBX to deserve a Fall Getaway. Do what I did and register for a FREE Raleigh Getaway for a chance to win:

  • One night accommodations for two at the Courtyard by Marriott Raleigh Crabtree Valley
  • $25 gift certificate to Bloomsbury Bistro
  • Free VIP admission for two to Rum Runners

Here’s looking at you kid

by macewan on September 27, 2007

During times of turmoil or rigorous personal upheaval, it is easy to forget how to find one’s self — how to calm one’s inner being. Sometimes it seems the route that looks the quickest will be the road taken in order to get the task completed. This rush, this hurried atmosphere is unhealthy. It damages the core of a person. I’ve felt this a bit during the last month or so and plan to take a mini-vacation next week to re-group. Meanwhile, I need to calm down right here and right now. There’s a certain Dane Spotts recording that I turn to in sped up times like these. If this sounds like where you find yourself — then consider taking a little time for yourself and engage in some self improvement or self fulfillment. Instant-hypnosis.com is one of those sites to visit when begin your search for what relaxation techniques or meditation-type mental exercises to use to get a grip. The provide free downloads to get you started plus they carry an enormous selection of topics. From self hypnosis to speed reading, you’re sure find assistance.

Schools offering degrees in Healthcare

by macewan on September 26, 2007

Obtaining a healthcare degrees or certificates doesn’t require stress when you use GuideToHealthcareSchools.com For instance, say you are seeking training as an X-ray technician simply following the link provides the needed information. The site strives to offer the best search capability for anyone seeking healthcare professional schools by utilizing links to government websites, schools, and other online resources. The educational resource, I believe, could prove invaluable to anyone trying to decide what path their life should take — whether or not to earn a degree in a new profession and change their life — or whether they’re just starting out in the world, right out of high school. The site offers a link to an internal page with information about a school and an online information request form. It’s easy-to-navigate but there is such a large amount of information — one can easily get lost, not in the site, but in the available opportunities for study and the sheer number of schools that offer programs.

This resource website, GuideToHealthcareSchools.com can show the prospective student more than just a list of links to educational opportunities. The site also informs the reader about which healthcare occupations are the most popular, which pay the most, how much study is required for completion of a degree or for certification. Students wishing to become pharmacy assistants, for instance would visit this site at the US Dept of Labor — Bureau of Labor Statistics to find out about the job requirements and the demand for technicians as assessed in the US in 2001.
