Hegel and Southern Yard Art: A Brief Discourse on Thesis, Antithesis, and Synthesis as Applied to Cement Chickens

By applying the Hegelian Dialectical form of analysis to the subliminal urge to acquire and prominently display cement animals in a landscape setting, one can clearly comprehend the Southern affection for yard art. The thesis (ideational entity) is initially defined as any

The Mystery of Southern Yard Art

live, sensate meat-producing animal whose functional characteristics are legitimized by their ability to sustain human life by providing nourishment essential for the survival of the human species.
The antithesis of the fully-functional food source strata of yard animal would therefore be the lurking of swine and poultry within the “yard,” serving as mere pets or for the crass entertainment of lower levels of society. A type of cultural travesty visited upon both the rural and urban body politic, as it were. The synthesis is then obvious.

If, as Hegel explains, the combination of the two (thesis and antithesis) being resolved in a higher form of truth represents synthesis, synthesis therefore can only be proved by the existence of the popularity of cement barnyard animals. The proliferation of cement pigs, and the sister sculptures signified by chickens, roosters, ducks, and turtles, represent, and further solidify, the Southerner’s need to synthesize a wanton carnivorousness with a true appreciation for art.

Monetizing your blog like Janey Bell

by macewan on December 20, 2007

Currently I’m in the middle of teaching 3 folks in the black arts of blogging for BOGIDYBOO money. My friends over at janeybell.net have finally delved into making online videos on the Toddler Reality Show (http://greenville-nc.com/?p=214). Their first video is an ad for Packet8’s newest product and features their son’s stuffed toy hippo. I’m not much of an authority on cute, but I’m pretty partial to my grandballons and the youngest one’s photograph is featured in the ad. Ms. janeybell, herself, is the narrator, and her husband was kind enough to do the camera work and change her background slides. I think its a great step in the right direction as janeybell tries to monetize in my footsteps. Check out the video , and give janeybell a vote in Packet8’s video contest ( http://bix.yahoo.com/contest/33995).

Going Pro as in MacEwan Diversified Media Holdings

by macewan on December 2, 2007

December 1st begins the official count down to going pro. Numbers don’t lie. One year ago Text-Link-Ads offer $50 to place 4 words on my blog. My first impression was that of humor. How cute that 4 words equals $50 dollars. So it began I published their 4 words and they gave me $50. Bitten by the bug.Fast forward to the end of June 2007 to my three month experiment. The first month of the Three Month Experiment I didn’t take it too seriously. Work and health stresses kept me focused away until the end of the month showed $650 earned. The second month of the Three Month Experiment I didn’t even start until midway through the month still I totaled $850 for August. Effort appeared to equal payoff.ppp-earnings.png September was a different story. I started the third month of the Three Month Experiment with a mind set to maximize my goal. The effort payed off with triple the previous months earnings coming in at $2,800. A full $2,500 coming from one source alone. The decision was then made to monetize with more effort and share how you can do the same.

The majority of my earnings during the Three Month Experiment came from PayPerPost, an Izea company, but this is only during my initial switch to warrior status. Seriously though, putting all your eggs in one basket is like gambling. Better to spend the time and spread the revenue streams across differing content offerings. Currently I am in the staging time preparing and learning. This is a no nonsense put up or shut up even with real consequences. Just as I gave myself three months to determine if it were possible to make a sustained $2,000 a month ($2,800 was what it came in at) I am working on a three month count down to March 1st. By that time all 25 sites should be in full swing.

The Structured Settlement Alternative

by macewan on November 6, 2007

Show me the money. Take that winning lottery ticket to Stone Street Capital to receive lump sump payment. Just think about about the opportunities available with the lump sum cash. Investing in the stock market, buying a new home or early retirement. Structured Settlements are not liquid assest and therefore can not be used as collateral for a loan. They may show throught their period payments an ongoing income, but they are inflexible if your present needs change. Stone Street may be able to help convert the Structured Settlement to a lump sum of cash.

Metal Buildings Reviewed

by macewan on November 5, 2007

A change in leaf color is taking place just outside my home office window. The tree is a two story Japanese Maple full of stunning orange/red glow. Next to that is my frontporch roof in all its shingled glory. I so wish our home had a metal rool like my next door neighbor does. She, by the way, is one heck of a great person. Not because of her roof. Just in general - she’s a one of those people you admire and respect as soon as you meet her.

Metal Buildings really ought to factor in with the rest of your choices when looking at rebuilding or initial planning or renovation. Anyway, back to metal roofs. Looking around for companies that handle such work isn’t as fun as staring out at a Fall window scene close enough to grab if I open the window. Metal Buildings or just the roofs themselves are another of those “sense of peace” purchases that I plan on making at some point. They last forever, just like metal buildings. I live in hurricane territory. Metal is good. Wood is bad… in a big storm.

Instant Term Life Insurance with NO Exam

by macewan on October 2, 2007

eLifePolicy can be obtained via online application process without having to take a medical exam. The 3-step process doesn’t even require you talk with an agent and all from the privacy of your home or office. Term life insurance pay-offs reduce over time, thus the younger you are — the less the payout in the case of your untimely demise as you age. It’s a pretty decent financial cushion if you’ve taken out a huge mortgage or bought a fleet of jet skis — and you don’t want to leave the wife and kids with a suffocating debt load when your ultra-light snags a utility pole.

The policy is available from a subsidiary of HSBC North America Holdings, Inc. Yes, that HSBC the same that is one of the top ten financial services companies in the U.S. The same that’s A+ rated by A.M. Best Company. The offerings are available to both Canada and U.S. citizens and if you qualify the policy can be printed in just a few minutes.

MacEwan.org 3 mon. goal final report - Sept. was $2500 from PayPerPost alone

by macewan on September 30, 2007

Three months to make a sustainable $2,000 a month online. That was the goal. I started in July and ended with September. Actually tonight is the last night of the 3 month goal. It’s been one hell of a ride. Initially my thought was I needed to sign up for every advertising opportunity under the sun. From PayPerPost to LinkWorth, Blogvertise, Payu2blog, Smorty for the in post product advertising. Then mix it up with Adsense, AdAuction, Text-Link-Ads, Clickbank or ValueClick.

Somewhere along the line PayPerPost became the shining star - more like a Rock Star!

Starting off wasn’t all peaches and cream. July was spent trying to figure out what the hell was going on in online blog advertising. Fairly quickly Shoemoney and JohnChow appeared in my headlights as people to read. Just about this time in ran into JohnCow. If you’re interesting in making money online JohnCow.com needs to be a daily habit. The first 14 days of August I didn’t even try to earn money but remembering my goal I picked back up where it had been left off and as you can see my Alexa graph it began to work.
