Ringtone coolness beats the cell phone blahs.

by macewan on October 9, 2007

Hey there I'm Robert MacEwan the author of Ideal Absolutes. If you're new to macewan.org, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.

Ringtones! Thousands of Ringtones! It feels like some kind of cellphone celestial chorus and it only takes a sec to download the tune that best fits your mood. Sprint Ringtones, AT&T… you name it. For me, I dig a little of Beethoven’s Fifth and the bit of gloom tone it sends when I receive a call from a number “unknown”. Val? She likes some Aretha Franklin or maybe John Mayer. Let’s face it, if it’s Dave Matthews or John Mayer — my wife will listen to and embrace the tune. Icky Thump? Foo Fighters? What’s your preference?

Get all the best ringtones for $9.99 a month. If you have the cash to … waste, uh squander, uh spend … and like the sound to fit the mood, grab some tones/tunes online. Internet enabled handsets only. Pop around the website and read the fine print — you’ll like what you see, I bet, and you’ll want to announce your presence in Harris Teeter or Old Navy when your friends call to ask what you’re doing.

It’s easy:
By entering the PIN code sent via text message to the cell phone number supplied by you on this page, you acknowledge you are subscribing to Ringaza’s Ringtone Club service. The 10 complimentary ringtones & 5 complimentary wallpapers offer is available as 10 extra ringtone credits & 5 extra wallpaper credits upon successful registration of the Ringaza Ringtone club.

It’s dada and it’s real.

Destination St. Lucia

by macewan on September 29, 2007

With all this talk of vacationing I forgot to bring up St. Lucia with both sultry black sands and white sugar sands. I’ve seen the snow white sands of Destin Florida and they are beautiful, but both black and white would be quite the eye candy.

Lately the temperatures in Washington have hovered in the 95+ area with 80 gallion humidity range. So finding that they have a 70′ish weather lifestyle certain gets my attention. Feeling the 70-85 degree
sun, the wind & not a care in the world. This is exactly what I would consider the perfect weekend retreat.

Thankfully the St. Lucia culture is conservative in nature due their history with the Catholic Church. This appeals to my oh-my-I’m-an-adult self image. The warm vacation spot is nice, tons of drunk college students I can do without. Come to think of it St. Lucia is looking very attractive.

by macewan on September 26, 2007

MyWallSt.net, the financial social network for those interested in investing, is promoting their fantasy investing game with winners earning real money - US$ 1000.00

Anyone willing to hand me $100,000 of investment money to join a rookie challenge gets my attention. MyWallSt.net allow you to test the waters of invest while at the same time sharing strategies and tips with others. Think MySpace meets WallStreet.

Information feed through the simulator runs 15-20 minutes after actual market numbers allowing them to keep it real. You have between 10 & 4 Monday through Friday you get a chance to get your Street-On. There’s also the chance that you may win $1000.

My first impression? The sign-up process took less than 3 minutes after which time I was redirected back to the front page and told the market was closed. Looking in the upper right hand corner of the window I noticed a login button and sign-up button - didn’t I just sign up a second ago? Answers like this are addressed at the ROOKIE Challenge F.A.Q. Read the summary and instructions.

As someone that’s started earning real play money I find this site oddly attractive. Learning a bit about investing without touching my real money. Gives a bit of an idea of what takes place with my 403b funds. They even gave me a Free hat for following the directions.

Note that I haven’t said anything about you paying money. That’s because the Rookie Challenge registration is free. Can’t beat free to join, free to participate and you may even win their $1,000 weekly prize.

Where to find just futon covers

by macewan on September 25, 2007

Hats off to them for style. Justfutons is just futons! Brilliant. It’s a specialized site — only two pages long. That’s shopping at its finest. Short, sweet and to the point. This type of shopping is quickly becoming popular in today’s ecommerce world. The layout and design of the site itself is beautiful with warm, easy - on - the - eyes colors that help keep the shopper focused and make their choice of cover a pleasant experience.

Let’s face it — if you want to purchase a futon cover — the last thing on your mind is getting lost clicking around Amazon or skipping around Google search. Point Firefox, we’re all using Firefox now days aren’t we? towards the site simply sells ONLY  Futon Covers.

BOB Smack

by macewan on September 25, 2007

Pad Up!Thwack! You want the eye to blink when they visit the site?! Plupft! Are they freaking kidding me!?

Smacking BOB (Body Opponent Bag) around after a conference call sure beats the hell out of cussing a customer. Plus, BOB adds to one bottom line while taking away from the other. One one hand you save the account thereby keeping the customer while at the same time stay fit and trim. It’s win-win for everyone! Well, everyone except for BOB.

Whether you creep out the family with your nightly smack-a-BOB athon or go for the less realistic hanging bag both provide that full body workout within the comfortable setting of home. This is one gift every geek needs if not at the office then at least their home.

By Friday?! Are you on DRUGS!? Smack-Thwack-Plumf! Grab one of their free standing punch bags and make stress a thing of the past. Pad up!
