Hey there I'm Robert MacEwan the author of Ideal Absolutes. If you're new to macewan.org, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed.
Completely slipped my mind that the 12th annual Webby is coming. Scrolling through the categories you find in services sitting between Moo and Concur the Identity Theft Protection service company LifeLock®. You may remember them by the TV ads where CEO Todd Davis has his Social Security Number posted in large letter on the side of a truck. Guess he knows a thing or two about protecting it seeing that he’s a Certified Identity Theft Risk Management Specialist™. No joking their backing comes from Goldman Sachs, Kleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers.
It is no small feat being selected for a Webby. What with this year there being somewhere around 10,000 entries from over 60 countries holding tight down to the last five nominees on the services category is quite impressive. After 12 years in the game digging through hundreds of thousands of sites team Webby is the one to watch for the real players. Hats off to you LifeLock® - you deserve it.
Earlier this year I wrote about their Identity Theft protection service. This company is awesome, even if you loose your wallet there’s a program called WalletLock™ to keep you covered. Turns out they set up a jobs page to help people looking for careers at lifelock.

There are many ways to generate creative ideas for blogs. Does your blog have a particular topic? If so researching online the latest news of that topic is a great way to generate creative ideas for your blog. For people with a more general blog there are unlimited possibilities to think up creative ideas. A secret tip that many writers use to think up creative ideas is to flip through magazines and newspapers and clip out interesting topics that grab your eye’s attention. Keep them in a folder and whenever you need a creative idea all you have to do is grab a cut out article from your handy folder. You will automatically have a title idea for your blog and you can play around with the content. If the cut-out article was about the top five perfumes you can make it the top four designer perfumes and research the latest in that topic. Or just use the topic of perfume and blog about the reasons you hate perfume or about a smell that perfume is missing in today’s society.

The ideas you can create is endless with this great trick for creative ideas. It does not matter how old the article is because you are not going to copy the article it is just an idea to get you going. Brainstorming is another great way to gain creative ideas for blogs. Get a piece of paper and write down a subject. Draw a circle around it and think of another idea that relates to it. Keep repeating the process until you have an entire page of creative ideas for blogs. Another great way to get creative ideas for blogs is to watch tv. There is always something on tv worth blogging about.
Another trick is that which bloggers use for quick snippets of text and ideas - Google notes. This is a tiny Mozilla plugin that enables note taking on the fly. Sorta like the Tomboy GNOME panel applet only Google Notes stays in the browser and shoots your ideas to a center storage know as the Google cloud. Happy blogging homies.

Time to start traveling again with 2009 just around the corner. This summer we plan to visit Costa Rica for a two week get away. Last time my vacation plans headed south was my visit to Chichén Itzá. Life introduces these wonderful moments to help you appreciate the power of Coca-Cola. It was so hot the sweat tried to get back in my skins after coming out.
The polar opposite was my trip to Alaska to visit friends working as air traffic controllers by day and dangerous crazy drivers during the rest of the day. If memory serves me right this was during the winter solstice. I was dizzy before landing in the airport and remained dizzy the entire trip. The air traffic controllers were dizzy most of the time too due to their 24 hour a day drinking. Not my best trip to date.
My best trips were the times I traveled with my wife to New York City. These usually lasted less than a week, but stuck in my mind because of how easy it is to travel with her. Our trips next summer will be either Italy or Germany. I have yet to visit France so I hoping this can be added to the list the following year.

When it comes to booking your travel to Europe plan on using likes of Dialaflight. They’re one of those leading independent travel companies that help with locking in a flight to Dubai or right into Heathrow Airport. If you haven’t been to Bath you really are missing out.

Making a living online
First question I’m asked is whether or not it is possible. Well, yeah it is quite possible to generate a good income online. We’re heading off to Costa Rica in June for a two week vacation. I’m bringing cash, clothers and some International Calling Cards. So let’s not call this blogging 101 or any such nonsense. Plenty of folks have written about the art of starting a blog. Take Caroline Middlebrook her blog is dedicated to teaching others how to make a living online. I’ve followed her since around September of 2007. The site is jam packed with rich instructions in the art of making a living online. I’m more interested in the idea portion of blogging for this post.
Open mind eases blogging creativity
Folks it’s darn easy for bloggers to get overwhelmed when they have to think of creative ideas for their
blogs to gain the interest of their readers. Some probloggers like JaneyBell, Valerie MacEwan & Phoebe Kate get sit down and whip out 500 plus word posts on any subject they want. Not everyone has that talent. Sure it is a daunting task but it can be done. It is important to create interesting
ideas for your blogs that will really grab your readers attention and keep them coming back to your blog. If you think about the last blog or article you read it was because the topic jumped out at you. It really got your interest and you wanted to know more. That is the key to blogging and inventive writing. Making your reader want to come back for more. Every great writer has this ability and even though you may think you are not a good writer you too have the ability to think up creative ideas for your blogs. It is not as hard as it appears. It just takes some time and some great tips to get your creative juices flowing and the ideas from you head to the blog. Writing for blogs or blogging is a fun activity that doesn’t have to be stressful. You can relax and think up creative ideas using some great techniques and your readers will come back every time for more.

What can I say about Internet contests. They’re fun as all get out and provide some extra spend money to boot. The Renuzit Triscents “Transform Your Home with Tanya Memme” contest has folks making videos for our added entertainment.

Head over there right away to check out the semi-finalist gallery. Don’t forget to sign up with them so you can vote. With all the goings on right now they even let us vote once a day at least up through June 7. Be serious about the votes you cast though as the winner with the most will receive a $20,000 home makeover with Tayna Memme.
Americans want change and that is exactly what you get with the most votes. I choose the clip shown in the screenshot because she just appeared to be having fun. Her relaxed interaction with the camera gave a comfortable viewing.
Just keep in mind that when you vote someone each day you are helping them obtain the makeover if they come in with the high vote count. So view as many videos as possible and take into consideration the variables important to you. Is it the needs of the family in the video or how much they made you laugh?
Time for me to close up so I can head back over and see if I recognize anyone. You know they’re so going to get razzed by me if I know them!
