Since around the 27th of March I started getting emails from folks asking how they can get out of PayPerPost. The short answer is you can’t. Once tainted your blog is as good as gone in Google. Moving forward try building “Postie” blogs which are blog like in nature but easily tossed if the money dries up after page rank is lost. I will not link directly to others because of the Izea slap they may incur. This is where jealous fellow Posties turn in other Posties to Google to get their Page Rank lowered. Nice huh. Once PPP started going downhill the gloves came off in their community. I have decided to turn into a do-follow site however so if you want to comment feel free. Do know that Ted has made it clear that you will not be welcomed if you complain. For all his huffing and puffing I never saw any law suit from lil Ted. I had a chance to talk with David Quinto at Quinn Emanuel about the subject of squatting as Teddy put it. This ought to get interesting.
What else… we had a death in the family last week. Bill Neely passed away unexpectedly. He will be missed. Got to see my brother and his son - pretty cool. My mother’s home looks like something out of Verona Magazine.
DeadMule.com has Virginia’s Poet Laureate Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda for April. I memory serves me we had North Carolina’s in March. Next month we’re having a collection from some poet that probably ought to impress me if I was more the literary type instead of being the Linux goober I am.
JaneyBell’s site traffic is going through the roof! Posties don’t try and spoil her PR she’s not part of Izea’s PayPerPost. Little sillies.
Adobe Air works just fine under Linux. Install takes two seconds. Give ‘er a shot folks.
Let’s see. Affiliate marketing training supplied spreadsheets work under Google Docs. I’ve only found one .exe that doesn’t work under WINE.

The Dogwood outside our bedroom is in full bloom. It’s spectacular first thing in the morning, sitting up in bed staring straight ahead out the window seeing this Dogwood. I walked over to my office with full wide open view of the trees. The Japanese Maple, Dogwood and flowering Pear staring right back at me. It’s time to start shopping.
With grandkids and a nephew under 10 in the picture we’re leaning more towards eco friendly kids furniture for them. As for the adults? Outdoor Furniture. Specifically the outdoor lounge chairs with their Tahiti Sun Lounger looking the be the favored choice.

How often are news outlets incorrect? Well, in this Reuters story they’re flat wrong about Sun being the first major software vendor to certify Ubuntu on their hardware.
Sun is the first of the world’s major server computer makers to certify that its hardware works with Ubuntu Linux, Shuttleworth told Reuters in an interview.
Later in the article the version of Ubuntu is brought up when Java compatibility if mentioned - this was accurate. If Reuter’s had originally stated:
Sun is the first of the world’s major server computer makers to certify that its hardware works with Ubuntu 8.04…
This would have been correct. Officially the Ubuntu 8.04 is due on April 24, 2008. Interestingly they plan on dropping Sparc support moving forward. That part isn’t in the Reuters story I thought it was a bit odd so I included it here.
Now if you are not familiar with Ubuntu here’s a little history. I sorta lived through their growth so I speak with first hand knowledge. About 4 or 5 years ago Mark Shuttleworth brought folks from Debian and GNOME together to build distro that released more often than others and on a schedule. Around this time those of use using Debian (hacked up unofficial 3.0) were thrilled to death. You see Debian only releases every quarter century. We were all worked up for the coming of Warty.
I’ve stay with Ubuntu through every upgrade since that time. I fought in the trenches for Adobe to release an early version of Flash 9 for Linux and with many other stayed on their asses expressing our (Linux users) need for Adobe Air for Linux.

Today’s business requires folks to wear many hats in their day to day activities. Technology is more and more used to assist the with time associated moving the product from being store owned to that of the customer. Let’s take the technology of point of sale also know as POS. Refurbished point of sale systems built specifically for POS are readily available if you know where to shop.
So now we’re left to determine where to shop for the equipment - my recommendation would be IBM. Well, if you turn to Google like I do most of the time the first choice is VisionPro.com. From their site we know they established the company in 1993. Apparently they know the POS market inside and out with this much time under their belts.
