Posties.us $1000 Tuesday

Scanning through www.posties.us this morning I came across the news that P3 appears to have $1000 Tuesday up again. If true this is great news for all posties. They’re saying fairly decent opps are hitting the market through the day. How refreshing to see this excitement once again. Great news for everyone involved!

I’ve submitted we add a bugs section to discuss problems found in the PayPerPost system. My hopes are that it will be used in a legitimate manner and not an all out zeroday buffet. We’re seeking improvements to fix our system not all out rhetoric destruction of p3. All parties are invited to participate from posties, PayPerPost staff and board mods, advertisers along with potential posties and ex posties.

TugLink job referral network

From a part-time number cruncher to an advertising executive to another warm body with janitorial experience to work on the plant floor, success in recruiting a qualified applicant can be a real pain. HR departments have limited resources in these tough economic times. It can be especially tough in the technology industry. Locating a social networking specialist qualified to handle the delicate art of juggling both advertisers and publishers - well, let’s just say it can’t be easy. Brown Street Used Brick Society

brick wallThe Great Wall of MacEwan will expand yet again.

Having found a new source for old brick, Val says it’s time to get back to task at hand — constructing a wall around the back yard. Once it’s tall enough, we’ll add some support rods to hold it in place so the grandboys can climb on it.

The goal is to make our yard visible from space.

bricks in a treeJust so’s you can appreciate the brick gathering effort — this is what I had to “go through” to get to the bricks. No wonder the folks who own the house said, “Take whatever you want… have at it.” So, dig I must. Trunk load after trunk load… back and forth from brick site to yard.

Certainly this site is the roughest brick reclamation zone I’ve encountered in all my years. Without a concrete chicken saint to watch over me, I don’t think I could carry on…

Crete wants me back

Corissia Group Hotels in Crete Greece presents their offering in the village of Georgioupolis, in the unspoiled western part of the island of Crete in Greece. Now is just as good a time as any to disclose that I am not stranger to travel on the islands and I’m sure Greece hasn’t changed much in the last 15 years. However, my recall or lack there of does not include the level of comfort offered by these hotels.

With age comes expectation in travel. For me? No more youth hostels, sandals, a loaf of bread for breakfast and lunch while walking around in a heat not felt since another memory searing surface of the sun heat on a day in Chichen Itza. No can of Coke has ever matched that life-saving magical mixture of sugar water handed to me when I over-heated in Crete.

Needless to say, I cherish my previous life of travel. I loved it. Jump into life 2.0 and join the world in travel. My next trip to Greece — I’m bringing my wife of 10 years. She may have me beat romping around northeast Europe, exclaiming “Oh! look another castle” while sitting comfortably in a tour bus, but I know another mode of transportation and when the gate on that ferry drops in Greece — you run not walk. My goodness, I just now remembered the Greek salad I ate on the waterfront of one of the islands. These are powerful true memories. Looking into travel to Crete brings them all back.

So — looking forward to this summer — I’m weighing my vacation options and Greece is on the list! Of course this time we take the resort route. The road less traveled winding up the hill hoping for a room is a memory and nothing more. Besides, I’m nearly 40. Leave the rough travel for the kids and young adults. Let them acquire the memories to share with daughters and grandkids. Our time will be that of comfort and prepared meals. An umbrella waiting to ease the job of the sun protection cream and a laptop book.

When I started looking into this trip I was directed to the owner of the Corissia Group Hotels in Crete Greece I.Tsiledakis S.A. Exactly the level of comfort one would expect. What struck me right away while visiting their site was the attention to detail in my realm. XHTML, CSS, WAI-A WCAG 1.0, a blog and an RSS feed none the less. Definately not an after thought in bring this online. Mostly surely this carries over into all they provide. I look forward to this visit and thank you.

Website traffic update for macewan.org

Yes, I’m staring at the clock ticking down to 12am. This is way past my usual bedtime, but I just got an unusual offer. One that really can’t be ignored. OK, back to the macewan.org traffic update. Below you’ll find a graphic demonstating the upward trend over the last month or so. And while I do not rely on this site to generate my online income it’s contribution is certainly welcomed none the less. Keep in mind there isn’t an advertising campaign running that’s responsible for this good fortune. So we’ll have to place blame on the likes of the star shaped brownie stairing at me. The one sitting on the growing list, currently over 85, of sites I’m managing at the time.

From colorful insights into Microsoft secret thoughts, FTC Chairwoman odd celebration, Google’s unfair attack on Izea members to Ubuntu Linux tutorials and videos (plug Ubuntube.net). Seriously, check out these videos on UbunTube. Microsoft’s Vista user interafce would best be discribed as pathetic in comparison. We’ve seen not only their one window trick at a fraction of the hardware requirements you find the other worldly app interaction seen by Sun’s Java Looking Glass - oh yeah, minus the resource intense Java.
