Cleaning Day

The epidurals are working. Val is in much better shape now. Know how I can tell? She’s cleaning with Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day soap. It’s lavender and the whole house smells absolutely amazing. During her epidural steroid-mood swing nasties a few days ago, she tossed into the trash all the cleaners containing bleach. “I’m sick of spots on my clothes. I ruined a brand new shirt yesterday and all I did was try to wipe up a coffee spill.” She bought super anti-bacterial, bleach-ified cleaners when Ruth started to need a bit more “cleaning up after”. Val told me she’d never used bleach in her life but she thought she needed it to get the house really clean. Glad that’s over, I hate the smell of Clorox.

Maybe the aromatherapeutic household cleaner idea isn’t just hype after all. Who knew?
macewan and mrs. meyers — good combination.

Jane drove her mom and the toddling twosome to Greenville to the grocery store a few days ago. Emmett apparently entertained his Nana with giggles and clever pointing, words of the one syllable variety and a great “aren’t I just the cutest thing?” poses for admiring shoppers. He and Ollie both love the Harris Teeter all-you-can-eat sample buffet of pineapple, apple, Tuscan bread, cheese, and cake nibblets o’love meal. Val said Emmett was extremely partial to Gala apples this season and Ollie leans more toward the Fuji.

Onward and upward.
