Yes you did it! You have Google Earth running on your system using wine! Can you give a short ‘HOWTO’ for ‘not so experienced’ linux users? I would be very glad to be able to use Google Earth, too, but I will not install any M$OS…
Bugger - I cant get this thing running on my linux 64 bit system. I tried wine and crossover - but nothing works
Which version ( date/size ) of GoogleEarth are you using? I’m unable to complete instalation under Ubuntu 5.10 - error message is “could not get IPSFactory buffer for interface”
hey Jan - version was from dec*
does anybody have it running and is willing to drop a few notes on the software (versions) used?
Hi there. I installed using the instructions from http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Install_GoogleEarth_with_wine
but just one thing isn’t working: I cannot see the text of the coordinates on the “earth” window. I tried installing the corefonts package, copied them to .wine/drive_c/windows/fonts/, restarted xfs server but had no luck. Any hint would be greatelly appreciated.
hi all
Mr. Macewan claims that he has it running on a linux box? - so why is not given details of how its done?

hey zch,
I just installed Breezy from the shipped CD - after updating the packages I’ll install Google Earth on Ubuntu Breezy with complete instructions of my actions.
