FlvPlayer Template Page

This is what I’ve done to create a template for my videos testing page.SelectingPageTemplate

  1.  flvplayer.php.txt
place this in /wp-content/ themes/ YourTheme
    For me it’s /wp-content/ themes/ connections
since connections is my current theme, I placed the flvplayer.php.txt file there and renamed it flvplayer.php (removing the .txt) which allows me to now create my special video page. Note that if you open this in an editor you’ll see that this template is named FlvPlayer.
  2. Now you head over to wp-admin/page-new.php where you enter a Page Title for this soon to be created new page. I typed Videos as my new pages Page Title. Then you scroll the page down to below the Page Content area where you will find the Page Options area. This is where I click the Page Template dropdown menu and select your newly created page template which is called FlvPlayer as you can see in the image to the right. That’s it – now click the Create New Page button which is slightly above and to the right.
  3. Hrm, seems that I’m getting files listed in my dropdown video selection list that I don’t want to be listed. Time to look around for an answer. (Note to males reading this: Read Instructions – they are there to help us.) Selecting FlvPlayer options is done at Options > FlvPlayer. Since I’m not too terribly bright and saw these undesired files listed in my video dropdown list – it wasn’t until Aaron told Kevin about excluding files that I added the following to my Files to exclude:
    FlowPlayer.swc
    FlowTracker.swc
    index.php
    Player.swf
    __player.swf
    __noflash.php
    __flashdetection.swf

I’m stilling in the test phase and as mentioned in bullet 3, I’m a little slow at times, so this information may change as I figure out what the heck I’m doing. emoticon
